A NIGHT OF MOVING IMAGES

Rhizome DC
A Night of Moving Images was established with the goal of bringing together artists and filmmakers from across the DVM. This year, it welcomes its first VR submission, works of animation and nonfiction, and a number of returning voices. The legacies of public parks, the creative processes of jazz musicians, and ephemeral glimpses of the sublime are all proffered for us to consider. The works in this program prove once again there’s no shortage of experimentation in the region, and together they embody the strange and beautiful world we live in.
The official selection will be preceded by a screening of films created during a workshop held in July by Mt. Plantry.
The Film & Video Open Call is organized by Alexander Atienza, Pat Doyen, Rebecca Reynolds, and Vincent Terlizzi. Thanks to Layne Garrett for his support and Alex Szantos for the bumper video. Please consider donating so we can continue providing challenging, community-driven cultural programming.
Filament is a new screening initiative building an audience for independent and art films in Washington DC.
Rhizome DC is a community-run arts organization, alternative music venue, and DIY screening space founded in 2015 and based in the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, DC.
